Have created framework and facilitator guides for discussions around various topics (e.g. race, what to do with a specific piece of property, transportation). Have also managed facilitators and their roles from time to time.

2008 – 2021: Executive Director, Plan NH. This 501(c)3 brings information and inspiration to communities – and to the planners, designers, and builders who shape them – about how community planning and the built environment can have a positive impact on the fabrics of our cities, towns and neighborhoods. Under my leadership:

    • workshops, conferences and webinars grew in scope and number, and included local as well as nationally-known figures. Topics included complete streets, missing middle housing, new ways of design for Covid and for aging, the role of community design in economic development and other timely topics.

    • the Community Design Charrette Program evolved to a facilitated small-group format for gathering information, and now includes the use of technology for key tools and presentations. Trends show a higher rate of community action post-charrette. Shaped and produced over thirty charrettes, led several.

    • New Hampshire Housing approached Plan NH with an invitation to administer a new program, the Municipal Technical Assistance Grant (MTAG) Program, giving grants to communities who wish to expand housing options through zoning changes. Working with NHHFA, created an Advisory Board and developed a program that continues to evolve in response to the housing needs of Granite State municipalities. (Currently a partner in the InvestNH Housing Opportunity Planning Grant Program).

Plan NH was represented in various roundtables, conferences and other gatherings that addressed housing, diversity, equity and inclusion, livable communities, transportation.

Previous: various positions in marketing and business development, public and university libraries.

    • Member of the Leadership Learning Exchange for Equity, which brings together (by invitation) leaders from around New Hampshire to examine the role of white privilege in systemic racism

    • Former member (2017 – 2022) of the Editorial Board for Forum, a quarterly print publication of AIA (American Institute of Architects) NH.

    • NH Alliance for Healthy Aging. Including: Inaugural steering committee member, advisor for strategic planning, one of ten invited to participate in Frameworks Institute’s Reframing Aging classes

    • Member, AARP-NH Executive Council, 2020 – 2022. This is an advisory group, to which I was invited to join because of my community development and housing work.

    • Honorary AIA-NH member.

    • Selected as one of NH Business Review’s two hundred most influential business leaders in New Hampshire for 2022.
