Facilitation

What is a facilitator?

A facilitator guides discussions – whether it’s a problem to be solved, or a decision to be made, or simply to gather information. A facilitator keeps conversations on topic, makes sure everyone gets a chance to voice their thoughts, and frames questions in a way that could challenge thinking and/or lead to new ideas.

RHL Strategies can work with you to design and conduct your journey of discovery. YOU focus on content. RHL Strategies focuses on the process.

THE FACILITATION PROCESS

Planning with Purpose.

Pre-Group Meeting

  1. Works with you to identify and clarify the issue at hand

  2. Works with you to identify where you would like to get to

  3. Works with you to describe what it is you want to accomplish at the meeting(s)

  4. Works with you to identify who will be in the conversation/at the meeting(s)

Then, RHL Strategies designs a process – a timed series of carefully-crafted questions and other discussion prompts – that guides your team, through dialog, to the desired outcome(s).

During the Meeting, as a Facilitator

  1. RHL Strategies is neutral

  2. RHL Strategies keeps the conversation focused

  3. RHL Strategies ensures everyone participates/is heard

  4. RHL Strategies works with the team to clarify what comes next

Whether for a short-term session (a morning or afternoon, or a day), or a longer-term project, a neutral facilitator could benefit you and your group. RHL Strategies can assist you in discovering the strengths, ideas and creativity your group holds, and be with you as you find out where it takes you.
